Select a natural or man-made object, which will become the starting point of work. The objective of this assignment is to expand the understanding of the ways of approaching a given situation, which will be supported by a research file, e-process document.
In the first phase,
• I will have to observe, represent and collect different types of data. (Relevant, non-relevant, etc.)
• Further to this, i will collate data collected through secondary and primary research from various Sources/ Resources to expand my understanding of the context of the object. This will be evidenced through my Process Report and Log Book.
• I will then make connections and associations that i can build around the selected object.
• I will have to analyze the findings; and categorize the same. (Mind Mapping)
• I will also explore the function and utility of the object to understand its relationship to the form.
• I will consolidate your research and understanding to define the ‘essence’ of the Object chosen for study. I will identify then suitable inspiration(s) to direct the progress of my work. (Statement of purpose)
• The day to day progress of my work will be recorded in a Log Book.
In the second phase,
• I will then explore the direction that i have defined to create a variety of rational visual responses using various visual tools, materials and techniques and validate the Design Process through effective end results.
• Final Outcome of this Module shall lead to a tangible expression, “Design Solution”, which may be one of the following:
- 2D expression creating 3D illusion.
- 3D Form Generation
- Installation occupying space (Physical/Digital)
• I will then prepare a documentation of the same in the form of a Process Report.
• I will reflect on the process that I followed and articulate the same in the Process Report.
